It is important that you feel comfortable and confident starting a therapeutic relationship - research shows that feeling comfortable and connected with your therapist is actually the most important factor in determining what kind of outcomes you will be able to expect from therapy, and I genuinely want you to have success in meeting your goals.
All services are provided virtually, I do not offer any in-person services at this time.

Insurance
-
I take many major commercial health insurance plans in the states where I am licensed, including BCBS, Cigna, Tufts, Harvard Pilgrim, and Optum (Oxford, Oscar, United Healthcare). Please feel free to reach out for details. For other commercial plans, I am an out of network provider. I am not currently in network with Medicaid.
-
I've partnered with Mentaya, a service that streamlines the process of understanding your out of network benefits and getting reimbursed for your therapy sessions through out-of-network benefits. Using Mentaya to help submit your claims and get reimbursed for therapy is an optional service to clients which carries a small fee per claim. For those who feel comfortable navigating reimbursement on their own, I can also provide superbills for services, which clients can then provide to their insurer for reimbursement if out of network benefits are included in their plan.
-
I also provide therapy services out of pocket for those who do not wish to use insurance.

In complying with the No Surprises Act, I will offer a breakdown of expected costs of individual therapy services based on our initial consultation at the start of treatment.
If you are seeking therapy and wish to use health insurance to pay for therapy services, please consult with your health insurance plan's in-network provider directory to obtain a list of in-network providers. Prospective clients seeking out of network services should always consult their plan to determine whether and how out of network services are reimbursed.

About therapy
About Therapy
-
In therapy, we create a plan together to address mental health symptoms through understanding how they came to be, what function they serve, and your relationship with your thoughts, emotions and behaviors.
-
I am trained psychodynamically and most frequently use ACT, emotionally focused therapy, EMDR and narrative therapy in my work.
-
I meet with all prospective clients for a free initial consultation prior to working together to help us determine whether I am the right fit for you, and am happy to answer any questions you have about services as well as my orientation and approach to this work.
-
At your first appointment, called an intake appointment, we will discuss your concerns, history and current context and begin to work together to set realistic goals for the initial treatment period.
-
My strong preference is to meet with clients either weekly or every other week for the first six sessions so that we can help you to create some momentum to move forward in your treatment more quickly. Many clients continue at this frequency as they progress through treatment, and reduce frequency as needed as symptoms improve.
-
Length of treatment varies greatly based on your needs and history. We will work together to create an initial treatment plan to address a specific goals that are achievable for the coming 2-3 months, and will revisit the plan regularly to make sure you are making progress.

About Telehealth
-
I provide telehealth therapy using secure video conferencing designed for providing healthcare virtually.
-
Therapy provided via telehealth is appropriate for most concerns that bring people to therapy. If we determine together that you have needs that are better addressed through in person treatment, I can provide recommendations for in person providers.
-
Many of my clients enjoy the scheduling flexibility of virtual appointments, as well as the ability to meet in a comfortable and private space of their choosing.
